Joo Yeon Ha is from South Korea.  She came to the USA in 2002 as an exchange student in high school and continued her education in the States, studying painting and drawing at the Ohio State University where she graduated with a BFA in 2008.  She is currently a second year graduate student at American University, pursuing an MFA.  She is the recipient of the Babs Van Swearingen Award and Ted &Elizabeth Leon Scholarships.  Her work was selected for the Watkins Collection at American University in 2011.  She lives and works in Washington, DC
